Chouffes

Okay, so gnomes are weird.  I get that.  My boyfriend, however, seems to have a slight obsession with these woodland creatures.  That's what inspired this project.  I made a tiki torch for his enjoyment from a bottle of our favorite gnome beer.  LOL.

YOU TOO CAN HAVE A BRILLIANT WINE/BEER BOTTLE TORCH.  HERE'S HOW!
You will need...
1/2 by 1/2 coupling, from the hardware/plumbing section at HD
Teflon tape, same section
Tiki torch replacement wicks, wherever you can find them
Tiki fuel, ditto

Clean and dry the chosen bottle.
Insert the wick into the coupling.
Wrap the bottom side of the coupling with teflon tape.
Place piece inside bottle filled with fuel.
You're done.
ENJOY.

Tutorials will get better!!!
I PROMISE!!!

And so it begins....

I set a new goal for myself today.  It is to actually use the resources available to me and get 100 blog entries under my belt before New Years Eve of this year.  The plan is to do one every day I work on my lunch break.  Wish me luck!  Today, being the first installment of this particular plan, I have decided to give you all a little history on me.  This is my story.  Well, a part of it.

I was born in Hawaii.
I grew up in WV and TN.
I moved 4 hours away from everyone I knew to work for Sephora here in NC 3 years ago.
I left Sephora for a higher paying job that didn't work out.
I went to Nordstrom with Philosophy cosmetics.
I met my current boyfriend.
We moved to TN.
I worked for Laura Mercier and BBW, an old employer.
We moved back.
I do freelance work.
I am involved in music.
It's everywhere around me.
I craft everything and love "upcycling".
I really hope my future posts will help y'all or at least make you smile!

Love you all!

Thanks!

Make Up to Break Up???

Boscia's Make Up Break Up Cool Cleansing Oil

Although I'm not really one to be "on the bus" as far as natural skincare goes, I am truly impressed by this darling from Boscia that I consider an essential.

Here's the breakdown.
Gentleness 5 stars.  Even my eyes, surrounded by tons of (waterproof) mascara and (waterproof again) liner (even on the inner waterline) weren't irritated by this formula.
Efficiency. 5 stars.  I can run a cotton pad over my skin after using this product just once without turning up as much as a trace of remnant product.
Cost.  4 stars.  While $21 truly is a steal for this kind of pay off, I'd buy it twice as much if it were $19.  I consider all products under $20 to be guilt free purchases in this economy.
About the oil...
I have oily skin and was weary at first.  However, you gals should know not all oil is bad.  Some oils cut oils as these do.  Check your caution at the door and proceed.

All in all, I love it.  You'll be amazed at how much you do too!

White Orchid Bridal with Dixie Pixel Photography

To say that I LOVE these pictures is an understatement. I couldn't be more happy to have been involved with this!  Tara Kneiser of Dixie Pixel Photography and Colleen Moore of White Orchid Bridal were the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS CO-CONSPIRATORS for this shoot!!!  Enjoy guys and gals!!!
